Sanat is a Technical Manager at W.consulting and a CPD NQF level 8 trainer.
He is part of the IFRS Advisory Team based in our office in Mauritius. He qualified as a chartered certified accountant with Nexia and has worked for both KPMG and BT during his career. While with Nexia, he was an audit supervisor and an IFRS advisor for both local and foreign companies, and served as the technical manager with India Management Services (IMS) Ltd.
Sanat has also worked as a finance manager and ACCA lecturer (specialising in Financial Reporting (F7), Financial Management (F9), Corporate Reporting (P2) and Advanced Financial Management (P4)) at FTMS Global Education (Mauritius), where he has provided lectures to both Mauritian and foreign students. Sanat is also a CFA Candidate.
His main interests lie in IFRSs (especially in IFRS 9), financial mathematics, financial engineering, derivatives and statistics.
Sanat has authored many leading publications on IFRS and has published eight books in accounting since 1997. He has also more than twenty years of experience in the field of educating professionals and students in IFRS.
Samantha started out working for a small retail sales and distribution company. She joined the company in a back office function and within 2 years headed up the Sales and Customer Service department. This position gave her the opportunities to work in a client facing role within the retail sector as well as manage key accounts such as the Ellerines Group and JD Group. In 2004 she then joined the multinational document storage company Metrofile and managed and trained a top portfolio of corporate clients such as BMW, Siemens, Nedbank, Investec and many more. In 2007 she joined the W Consulting Group and now forms part of our Learning Team. She is a qualified Business and Life coach and is able to deliver workshops in all areas of professional and personal skills development. She is also a Microsoft Certified Professional.
Blaise has 10 years of experience in public practice. During this time he has worked at Grant Thornton as an audit manager, Gobodo Incorporated as a senior manager in their technical standards division, Protect a Partner International as Head of Accounting and Technical Excellence and most recently as a technical director at W.Consulting. His areas of expertise include, International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), IFRS for SMEs, Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) and ISA (International Auditing Standards). He provides technical consulting services and training to the firm’s clients on these frameworks. He is an active member of the Accounting Standards Board’s Public Sector Accounting Forum (previously the SAICA Public Sector Technical Forum) and has served on various sub-committees of the Accounting Practices Committee of SAICA and the ASB. He is also a Registered Auditor and member of the Independent Regulatory Board of Auditors, and a registered Skills Assessor. He is a co-author of the publication Wiley Interpretation and Application of International Financial Reporting Standards 2011 and 2012.
Raymond trained with Coopers & Lybrand and Ernst & Young, where his portfolio of clients included listed multinational entities, public interest entities as well as other significant unlisted entities. After leaving the profession, he worked in commerce as Financial Director within a listed group of companies.He has been involved in IFRS implementation projects for JSE-listed and public interest entities and has, over the years, gained significant experience in the interpretation and practical application of IFRS. His industry experience includes, amongst others, Agri-processing, Manufacturing, Mining and Public Utilities (Power & Water). He is a co-author of the publications Applying IFRS for SMEs and Wiley Interpretation and Application of International Financial Reporting Standards 2011. He has also been involved in managing Sustainability Reporting projects and more recently in Integrated Reporting projects as well as required in terms of the King Code of Governance Principles for South Africa 2009 (King III) and has been involved in commenting on the proposed Framework for Integrated Reporting and the Integrated Report discussion paper that was issued by the Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa.
