Sanat is a Technical Manager at W.consulting and a CPD NQF level 8 trainer.
He is part of the IFRS Advisory Team based in our office in Mauritius. He qualified as a chartered certified accountant with Nexia and has worked for both KPMG and BT during his career. While with Nexia, he was an audit supervisor and an IFRS advisor for both local and foreign companies, and served as the technical manager with India Management Services (IMS) Ltd.
Sanat has also worked as a finance manager and ACCA lecturer (specialising in Financial Reporting (F7), Financial Management (F9), Corporate Reporting (P2) and Advanced Financial Management (P4)) at FTMS Global Education (Mauritius), where he has provided lectures to both Mauritian and foreign students. Sanat is also a CFA Candidate.
His main interests lie in IFRSs (especially in IFRS 9), financial mathematics, financial engineering, derivatives and statistics.Sanat has authored many leading publications on IFRS and has published eight books in accounting since 1997. He has also more than twenty years of experience in the field of educating professionals and students in IFRS.
Blaise is a Technical Director at W.consulting, specialising in financial reporting in the public sector. Prior to joining the firm, he worked at Grant Thornton as an Audit Manager, Gobodo Inc as a Senior Manager in the Technical Standards division, and at Protect a Partner International as Head of Accounting and Technical Excellence. His areas of expertise include Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), International Financial Reporting Standard for Small and Medium-sized Entities (IFRS for SMEs), International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and International Standards on Auditing (ISA). He provides technical consulting services and training to the firm’s clients on these frameworks, both locally and abroad. In March 2012, he was appointed by the South African Minister of Finance to serve as a board member of the Accounting Standards Board (ASB), the body responsible for developing and issuing Standards of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice for use in the South African public sector. In September 2015, he was elected Chairman of the Technical Committee of the ASB, and also serves on the management committee of the Board. He is an active member of the ASB’s Public Sector Accounting Forum (previously the SAICA Public Sector Technical Forum) and has served on various sub-committees of the Accounting Practices Committee of SAICA and the ASB. Blaise is a registered Skills Assessor with SAICA. Blaise developed and presented SAICA’s seminars entitled “GRAP Basics” and “GRAP Update” from 2010 to 2013. The seminars ran countrywide in all major centres for three years in a row, and were very well received by delegates.
